Ministering in the Market
The Rosemont Team is airborne as far as we know. Lynne and I were walking down the street in Livingstone and heard a jet takeoff. That is not a very common occurrence here, so it must have been them. They were tired after a long week of ministry at NDO and ready to get home. We are still in Livingstone becuase . . . the van is now broken. Sound familiar? It was the bus at the beginning of our adventure here. We have checked into the Ngolide Lodge with Wes and Laurie awaiting the repair of the bus.
This morning we went to immigration to get an extension on our visa so we can legally stay until our departure on July 11. We visited the market that the team visited Monday. Wes and Laurie know some of the vendors there, and Lynne and I were hoping to buy some African greeting cards with art on the front. Well, after spending more Kwacha, we found Wes chatting with two gentlemen. He introduced us and then Wes wandered off. I struck up a conversation with them, and eventually shared with them the ABC Bible study method I use for Scripture study. They asked me to recommend some passages for them to study and told me they would study and use the method together. One of the guys asked me if I was a Pastor. I told him that I am just a Sunday School teacher. He asked what time tomorrow I would be back and I explained the situation wtih the van, and that I probably would not be back if we get it fixed. He told, "I thank God for what you have shared with us today!" I told him that if the bus were not broken, I would not be here to share with them.
Yes we did go on a safari yesterday at Chobe National Park. We saw lions, elephants, leoard and Cape Buffalo (4 of the Big 5) No rhinos in Botswana where we were. I added 30 new birds to my birdwatching life list. Our guide was an avid birdwatcher and had great eyes.
We covet your prayers for the van. We all need to get back to NDO tomorrow for things that we need to do. However, we are surrendering to God's timing on all of this. More later on the hotel owner and her intervention to help get the bus fixed. More details about Victoria Falls, the safari and teaching in the market soon.
