We have good news!!  Our passports and visas for Zambia arrived today.  We are 'cleared in hot' as Naval Aviators would say.  I have added a countdown timer to the blog so we can watch the time run down.  Please continue to pray for New Day to find water when they drill again in about a week.  Also pray for Mishek one of the students who is sick.  Thank you for your prayers.

Dwarves, Sunsets and Mission Funding

     Time seems to be rushing toward our departure for Zambia on June 1st.  This past Saturday, we were awakened at 4:30 AM by a new addition to our farm.  He is the son of our Nubian goat, Millie, and a dwarf goat we borrowed named Harvey.  He looks alot like his daddy, except for the white spot on top of his head-just like his mother.  Stephen, our son, named him Gavin.  He is a precious, furry ball of love.  When we was first born, Lynne handed him to me wrapped in a towel.  He instantly began sucking on my chin-I guess the bear made me look like a goat.   We are looking forward to goat's milk to drink and for our coffee.      With Spring and the time change my opportunity for photographing sunsets is on the increase.  I love to photograph sunsets and sunrises, but favor sunrises "Great is Thy Faithfullness" is one of my top 5 favorite hymns.  Each sunrise reminds me that "morni...

                   I have been mulling this blog for over a week. You might use the word ruminate if I were a bovine creature or a goat.   The blame lies with my friend Alexa Lowery, a teacher at Destino del Reino in Siguatepeque, Honduras . She maintains a blog at home during the summer and on a mission called Causa di Mi Nombre .   As much as I enjoy reading her blog, it is very spiritually challenging to read her blog because she challenges me to stretch my faith. Thursday is Grocery Day and Cleaning Day and WOW!! it is cold!!!

June 20, 2013                    I am sitting in the meeting hut (ciikuta-pronounced chee koota) where we meet for church and devotions.  Although it was in the mid-30’s this morning, at 10 a.m. it is in the mid 70’s and very windy (almost said breezy, but that is too pleasant a word for the 30-40 MPH winds that we experience).  Max (the Siamese) is in my lap napping.  The sound of Tanga is carried on the wind from the staffers busy about their day.  Thursday is cleaning day at the Ninas hut.  Martha (not the cow but the worker) washes then hangs out our clothes today.  She will also sweep, mop, and put Cobra floor polish on our floors.                Curtis and Russell just walked by on their way to volunteer to help Lynne in the NDO garden.  It is time to plant onions and carrots....
