Mea Culpa (My Fault)

     Most times it is best to stick to the basics.  I know, people have tried to tell me but still I venture out of the basics.  From my Zambian friends I ask forgiveness.  It never occurred to me that you would not be able to access Weebly in Zambia.  Today I will begin migrating posts I have made since returning to the US to Blogger.

Dwarves, Sunsets and Mission Funding

     Time seems to be rushing toward our departure for Zambia on June 1st.  This past Saturday, we were awakened at 4:30 AM by a new addition to our farm.  He is the son of our Nubian goat, Millie, and a dwarf goat we borrowed named Harvey.  He looks alot like his daddy, except for the white spot on top of his head-just like his mother.  Stephen, our son, named him Gavin.  He is a precious, furry ball of love.  When we was first born, Lynne handed him to me wrapped in a towel.  He instantly began sucking on my chin-I guess the bear made me look like a goat.   We are looking forward to goat's milk to drink and for our coffee.      With Spring and the time change my opportunity for photographing sunsets is on the increase.  I love to photograph sunsets and sunrises, but favor sunrises "Great is Thy Faithfullness" is one of my top 5 favorite hymns.  Each sunrise reminds me that "morni...

Peace

                   I have been mulling this blog for over a week. You might use the word ruminate if I were a bovine creature or a goat.   The blame lies with my friend Alexa Lowery, a teacher at Destino del Reino in Siguatepeque, Honduras . She maintains a blog at home during the summer and on a mission called Causa di Mi Nombre .   As much as I enjoy reading her blog, it is very spiritually challenging to read her blog because she challenges me to stretch my faith. In her April 18 th blog, “ Teacher, what is peace to you? ” she finished with the challenging question, “What is peace to you?”   Thus I began my journey of rumination and mulling. Thursday is Grocery Day and Cleaning Day and WOW!! it is cold!!!

June 20, 2013                    I am sitting in the meeting hut (ciikuta-pronounced chee koota) where we meet for church and devotions.  Although it was in the mid-30’s this morning, at 10 a.m. it is in the mid 70’s and very windy (almost said breezy, but that is too pleasant a word for the 30-40 MPH winds that we experience).  Max (the Siamese) is in my lap napping.  The sound of Tanga is carried on the wind from the staffers busy about their day.  Thursday is cleaning day at the Ninas hut.  Martha (not the cow but the worker) washes then hangs out our clothes today.  She will also sweep, mop, and put Cobra floor polish on our floors.                Curtis and Russell just walked by on their way to volunteer to help Lynne in the NDO garden.  It is time to plant onions and carrots....
