A little less than two months and we will be winging our way to Zambia. In order to volunteer there we have to present an invitation at Zamibian Immigration showing we were invited (picture to the left).   So looking forward to this adventure.  Coveting your prayers in the days before we depart that God will prepare our hearts for whatever work he will have us do.  The first word Jesus gave us in the Great Commission is 'go.'  We are doing that. Pray that he prepares our hearts to minister, and make disciples, and be discipled by those at New Day Orphanage.


My beard is coming along well.  Stopped at the Ice Cream Club last night for dinner and ice cream.  Proprietor Bill Garrett said, "you look wiser already Larry!"  I told him "my step-father used to tell me I was wise, but he added a word after wise   .  .  .  I think Jesus road into Jerusalem on one of those."   It has been an experience just not shaving.  When the wind blows my face feels fuzzy.
        Asking for your prayers for the staff and students at New Day.  Also remember the Pastor of the local Baptist Church in Zambia, as they recently lost a baby shortly after birth.  Thank you for  your support and prayers.

Ministering in the Market

     The Rosemont Team is airborne as far as we know.  Lynne and I were walking down the street in Livingstone and heard a jet takeoff.  That is not a very common occurrence here, so it must have been them.  They were tired after a long week of ministry at NDO and ready to get home.  We are still in Livingstone becuase . . . the van is now broken.  Sound familiar?  It was the bus at the beginning of our adventure here.  We have checked into the Ngolide Lodge with Wes and Laurie awaiting the repair of the bus.      This morning we went to immigration to get an extension on our visa so we can legally stay until our departure on July 11.  We visited the market that the team visited Monday.  Wes and Laurie know some of the vendors there, and Lynne and I were hoping to buy some African greeting cards with art on the front.  Well, after spending more Kwacha, we found Wes chatting with two gentlemen....

Dwarves, Sunsets and Mission Funding

     Time seems to be rushing toward our departure for Zambia on June 1st.  This past Saturday, we were awakened at 4:30 AM by a new addition to our farm.  He is the son of our Nubian goat, Millie, and a dwarf goat we borrowed named Harvey.  He looks alot like his daddy, except for the white spot on top of his head-just like his mother.  Stephen, our son, named him Gavin.  He is a precious, furry ball of love.  When we was first born, Lynne handed him to me wrapped in a towel.  He instantly began sucking on my chin-I guess the bear made me look like a goat.   We are looking forward to goat's milk to drink and for our coffee.      With Spring and the time change my opportunity for photographing sunsets is on the increase.  I love to photograph sunsets and sunrises, but favor sunrises "Great is Thy Faithfullness" is one of my top 5 favorite hymns.  Each sunrise reminds me that "morni...

FEEEEEEEVER!!

Bailee Wilson Ellen Taylor      One more day of school with students.  Two more post-planning day next week and this year is in the bag.   Had the privilege of taking a picture with two of my favorite students.  I was honored that they asked if they could take a picture with me.  Congratulations Taylor and Bailee on moving up to Troup!       The odyssey of getting a Yellow Fever shot came to fruition today. Apparently the Rosemont Zambia Mission Team has placed an undue burden on the Yellow Fever serum supply.  So the die is cast, preparations (except packing) are complete and we are ready for an adventure.  Rosemont Baptist Church will be commissioning  Lynne and I this Sunday, as well as, Alaska Missions members.
