      Awesome!!!! Just heard back from Darbi & Blu.   They have a hut that will accommodate this panda and his wife from June 3rd to July 11th.    Not sure if they grow bamboo in Zambia, but will check that out on CIA Factbook soon.
      I began doing some research on Zambia this week using CIA Factbook and Lonely Planet.   The first thing I learned is that it is in Africa.  You may think I say that because I'm ignorant or just trying to be funny.  Not at all.  I have visited Europe, Asia, and North America.  In total there are 7 continents  .  .  .  can you name them.  Africa is a continent I have flown by in aircraft (if I tell you any more I would have to shoot your), floated by in the Big Ditch (Suez Canal, and read about in books.  Never set foot on the continent of Africa.  As Po would say, "there is no charge for awesomeness  .  .  .  or attractiveness."   As a bird watcher, I am intrigued and will now have to find a birding guide for Africa.  Ok, maybe a book for subsaharan Africa- Birds of Southern Africa.  
      Lynne and I were uncertain about the invitation Laurie and Wes Wilcox extended to us to serve at New Day Orphanage and have been fervently praying that God would give us clear direction on whether we should go.   The more I listened to Chris Tomlin's song Awake My Soul, the more I realized that my soul had become those dry bones and God is calling me back to life, to purpose, to usefulness.  Today, Adam Camp preached at Rosemont on Mark 8.   The passage today that worked on my heart was Jesus charging the crowd and his disciples with    

 Mark 8:34-35  And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel's will save it

       Jesus spoke to me and said, "Dude what are you waiting for to get to work for God!" He didn't really say "Dude" but that is what I thought he would say while the Holy Spirit was working this Scripture through my heart.  So we have contacted the "missionary travel arranger person", post a plea for prayers on Facebook (dude once you put it on FB it's for real LOL).  The adventure begins.  Join me in praying for Zambia, for the orphans at New Day Orphanage.Pray for God to prepare the hearts of the orphans and our hearts for service.  

 Pray for the staff at New Day that they can survive with us for over a month. 

James 1:27  Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you

Ministering in the Market

     The Rosemont Team is airborne as far as we know.  Lynne and I were walking down the street in Livingstone and heard a jet takeoff.  That is not a very common occurrence here, so it must have been them.  They were tired after a long week of ministry at NDO and ready to get home.  We are still in Livingstone becuase . . . the van is now broken.  Sound familiar?  It was the bus at the beginning of our adventure here.  We have checked into the Ngolide Lodge with Wes and Laurie awaiting the repair of the bus.      This morning we went to immigration to get an extension on our visa so we can legally stay until our departure on July 11.  We visited the market that the team visited Monday.  Wes and Laurie know some of the vendors there, and Lynne and I were hoping to buy some African greeting cards with art on the front.  Well, after spending more Kwacha, we found Wes chatting with two gentlemen....

FEEEEEEEVER!!

Bailee Wilson Ellen Taylor      One more day of school with students.  Two more post-planning day next week and this year is in the bag.   Had the privilege of taking a picture with two of my favorite students.  I was honored that they asked if they could take a picture with me.  Congratulations Taylor and Bailee on moving up to Troup!       The odyssey of getting a Yellow Fever shot came to fruition today. Apparently the Rosemont Zambia Mission Team has placed an undue burden on the Yellow Fever serum supply.  So the die is cast, preparations (except packing) are complete and we are ready for an adventure.  Rosemont Baptist Church will be commissioning  Lynne and I this Sunday, as well as, Alaska Missions members. What are you wearing????

Fortunately we are required by law to wear clothes when we are out in public.  In the winter time you can freeze to death if you are not properly clothed.  Even in the summer time we dress to be comfortable and cool.  I think some people are such slaves to fashion that they will wear anything regardless of how comfortable it is or how offensive it may be.  If is say, “those aren’t pants!”, you know I am talking about yoga pants. Most people put a fair amount of thought into what they wear.  During the school year I pick out my clothes the night before so that I can shower and dress quickly in the morning to get to the car rider line at school.  I choose clothes that “go together” and are comfortable.  If they aren’t comfortable, it will be a very long day.
